Pace Lacrosse Cruises Past Dominican; Improve to 3-0 on the Season

HILLBURN, N.Y.- Matt Gebhardt (West Islip, NY/West Islip) totaled six points, while Matt Mirabito (Binghamton, NY/Broome CC) added three goals as the Setters cruised past the Chargers of Dominican College 15-7 in non-conference action. The Setters remain unbeaten at 3-0 on the season, while the Chargers fall to 0-1 overall.

Pace got the offense going early in the contest as they scored the first 11 goals over the first two quarters, which gave Pace a 13-1 halftime lead. Gebhardt recorded both his goals in the first half along with three of his four assists in the game. Mirabito netted all of his scores in the first half, while Thomas Earl (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) and Ryan Gorup (Harrison, NY/Fordham Prep/Fordham) each finished with two goals and one assist.

In net, Timothy Izzo (Trumbull, CT/St. Joseph/Franklin Pierce) played 21 minutes to pick up the win. Connor Brophy (Pompton Lakes, NJ/DePaul Catholic) notched a save in 23+ minutes, while Zak Pirro (Plano, TX/Plano) also recorded a save in the final 15 minutes of play.

The Setters open up conference play as they will host Le Moyne College on Saturday, March 9 at 1 pm in their Northeast-10 Conference opener.
